Family of Motorcyclist Struck and Killed by Tractor Trailer Settles Case for $900,000

Welch & Webb assisted the parents and two minor children of a motorcyclist struck and killed by a tractor trailer settle their wrongful death claims for $900,000. The motorcyclist was killed when a tractor trailer operated by a 21 year old driver failed to yield the right-of-way and turned into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. This case was settled after mediation between the parties.


Policy Limits Settlement in Crash Involving Uninsured Motorist

Welch & Webb obtained a policy limits settlement for their client injured in a rear-end crash in Jackson County, Missouri. The client, a Vietnam Veteran, was injured when his car was struck from behind by an uninsured driver while the client was stopped at a stoplight. The client suffered soft-tissue back injuries requiring extensive physical therapy and a series of steroid injections. This case was settled prior to filing a lawsuit.


Crash Caused by Drunk Driver Results in a Policy Limits Settlement

Welch & Webb obtained a policy limits settlement for their client injured in a rear-end crash in Clay County, Missouri. The client, an off-duty police officer, was injured when his car was struck from behind by a drunk driver while the client was stopped in traffic waiting to turn left. The client suffered soft-tissue injuries to his neck and back requiring physical therapy and a series of steroid injections. This case was settled prior to filing a lawsuit.

Slip and Fall Case Settles for Confidential Amount Prior to Filing Lawsuit

Welch & Webb’s client slipped and fell in an uncovered floor drain that was concealed by a floor mat in the exterior stairwell of a publicly owned building.  The client fractured her ankle and injured her wrist.  Client’s wrist injury required two different surgeries and extensive physical therapy.  This case was settled after mediation between the parties.


Policy Limit Settlement in Uninsured Motorist Accident

This case involved a drunk-driving accident in Jackson County, Missouri.  Welch & Webb represented three family members injured when their vehicle traveling on Interstate-70 slowed for heavy traffic and was rear-ended at a high rate of speed by an uninsured, drunk driver.  We were able to stack multiple “uninsured motorist” policies to help maximize our clients’ recovery.  This case settled for the insurance policy limits available for our clients.
