PLATTE COUNTY ATTORNEY JARED WELCH ELECTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR KIDS’ CHANCE, INC. OF MISSOURI

Weston, Missouri, June 6, 2011. 

Jared Welch an attorney with Shafer & Welch, LLC in Weston, MO was recently elected to the Board of Directors for Kids’ Chance, Inc. of Missouri, a not-for-profit organization that provides post-high school scholarships to children of Missouri workers that have been killed or disabled by a work related accident.  

Jared has concentrated his practice in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury and criminal law since 2003. 

Jared has first-hand experience with how a disabling injury can affect a family.  He credits a case early in his legal career that involved a severe injury to an uncle as a result of a work related accident that sparked his passion to represent injured clients and their families. 

“I come from a family of hard working farmers and laborers that were thankfully, for the most part, always very healthy.  But when my uncle was injured on the job I really got a sense for how catastrophic it can be to an entire family when the bread winner is seriously injured in a work related accident.  I knew from that case on that I wanted to help injured people and their families.  I am honored and humbled to have been elected to the board for Kids’ Chance, Inc. of Missouri where I can help the children of injured workers to further their education and personal development.”    

Jared and his wife Pamela, who is also an attorney, reside in Platte City with their two young daughters.
